My name is Roy Bennett and I am the founder of the National Community Broadband Association, based in Whitby North Yorkshire, we are looking to join up with and share our resources with those who seek to empower the community and enable it to own and operate its own Fibre/wireless broadband network.
We are currently establishing a website and Social enterprise Company for the association to carry forwards the project, I already have a company and start up funding in place for the Whitby project and are working with several other community groups who already are operating or about to operate wireless community broadband and are moving towards fibre rollout.
The personnel involved have significant experience in this arena and seek to share thier knowledge and expertise where possible, we are made up of entreprenuers, installation companies, engineers, ISP`S, community activists, Social enterprise founders, fund raising experts, consultants, regeneration specialists, Councillors, etc, etc.
We have extensive connections throughout the world of Fibre rollout and we are currently working with the CBN, Yorkshire Forward, Keyfund Yorkshire, Unitybank, charitybank, and numerous other companies and bodies to develop an approach that others who are seeking to travel the same route that we are travelling can use.
We are develolping a toolkit approach to help each community avoid reinventing the wheel when they wish to roll out fibre.
